The aim of the programme Exploration France is to allow researchers based in Japan to discover and explore the French research landscape in their specific field, thereby encouraging the establishment of new French-Japanese collaborations.
The 2018 call for proposals covers all scientific fields except the Humanities and Social Sciences.
What is funded
The programme aims to help finance exploratory visits to France conducted in 2018 by researchers based in Japan.
Funding will consist of a return economy-class flight between Japan and France, as well as a contribution towards subsistence costs amounting to €110/day for a maximum of three days (the amount is subject to a slight change).
Any additional financing required for the visit must be secured by the laboratory or from other sources.
The call for proposals is open to researchers affiliated with laboratories attached to universities, research bodies or Japanese companies.
Applications will be assessed according to the following criteria:
- scientific excellence of the candidates and their field of research;
- desire to forge new collaborations;
- pertinence of the proposed visit with regards to future collaborations;
- feasibility of conducting the visit within the allocated budget.
