Offer Description
We are looking for a postdoc, who would like to apply for a Marie Sklodowska-Curie PF fellowship to work on the archaeological spatial analysis combustion structures from Middle Paleolithic levels from Abric Romaní using geostatistics and geographic information system (GIS) tools.
Abric Romaní is a Neanderthal middle palaeolithic site, where nearly 10 archaeological levels have plan map combustion structures documentation. Network analyses, suitability modelling, algebra map and ring and sector method analyses among others are required for advanced GiS user candidates.
Host Institution and research team
This project will be developed under the supervision of Dr. Josep Vallverdú https://orcid.org/0000-0002-3177-3263 at IPHES-CERCA (Tarragona, Spain) www.iphes.cat who will support a candidate to develop a proposal, both will have the support of the Host Institution Research Office’ staff. IPHES-CERCA endorses the European Charter of Excellence in HRS4R, and the EU Code of Conduct for Researcher Recruitment.

Candidates are required to be advanced GiS users having skills in Network analyses, suitability modelling, algebra map and ring and sector method analyses among others. The knowledge, and experience in Prehistoric archaeology will be welcomed.
MSCA-PF call is open to researchers, regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, or any other basis protected by state or local law applicable. However,
You must have a completed PhD in the fields of this EoI at the time of the call deadline (13 September 2023).
You can apply up to eight years after the completion of your PhD (excluding experience outside research and career breaks (e.g., due to parental leave, civil service...).
You must not have resided or worked in Spain for more than 12 months in the three years up to the call deadline.
If the candidate selected gets a MSCA-PF will be hired in a full-time 2 years contract under Spanish law system.
