University of Wroclaw invites applications for the position of an assistant professor at the Department of Material Culture History in Historical Institute, the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences

The competition is open to persons who meet the conditions set out in the Act of 20 July 2018. Law on Higher Education and Science (Journal of Laws 2018, item 1668 as amended) and the Statute of the University of Wrocław.

Requirements

The conditions that the candidate should meet:

1. Knowledge of the Polish language to a degree enabling conducting classes in this  

language (if the person selected in the competition will conduct such classes).

2. Knowledge of the English language to the extent that allows conducting classes in this

language.

3. The candidate must hold a PhD degree in the field of history or architecture or

archaeology or history or arts.

4. Completed studies (bachelor and/or master) in one of the following fields: heritage of

material culture, public history, geography, history of art.

5. In the case of people with a doctoral degree in a discipline other than history, it is

required to complete bachelor's and master's studies in history

6. Experience in teaching at a university.

7. Scientific achievements documented e.g. scientific publications in recognized national

or foreign scientific journals or publishing houses included in the lists of scientific

journals and publishing houses of the Ministry of Education and Science.

8. Participation in the national or foreign research Project.

Responsibilities

In the research area:

  1. Conducting research in the field of the history of material culture and disseminating

their results, e.g. in the form of conference participation, lectures, publications in

highly rated journals and publishing houses, including the international contexts.

  1. Submission of grant applications to obtain external funds for scientific and research activities.

In the teaching area:

  1. Teaching classes in the usual teaching load.

In the organizational area:

  1. Fulfilling other, including organizational, duties indicated by the Director of Historical Institute.

  3. A photocopy of the diploma certifying the PH.D. or post-Ph.D. academic degree.

  5.   6. Self-presentation (information about scientific, teaching, organizational, and other achievements).
  7. List scientific publications in the last ten years.
  8. Electronic versions of the two most important publications that the candidate considers representative of his or her scientific achievements, or an explanation of the lack of them.
  9. Application for employment addressed to JM Rector including a description of applicant’s scientific interests.

The President of the Selection Board reserves the right to ask applicants to submit copies of any scientific publications or other documents required to assess their candidature.
