Offer Description
1/10-time position: Research work will be carried out in the Institute of Experimental Physics, Faculty of Physics, University of Warsaw, within the project "Spin noise spectroscopy of emerging materials for opto-spintronics" financed by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange. The successful candidate will be mainly responsible for the growth of samples (two-dimensional semiconducting and magnetic materials) with the use of epitaxial methods and for their characterization with the use of optical magnetospectroscopy. The aim of the research is to explore new material systems with properties suitable for future spintronic and opto-spintronic devices. We plan multithreaded experiments including measurements of luminescence, absorption, magnetic circular dichroism, optically detected spin noise, and others, carried out with the use of several novel heterostructures containing two-dimensional semiconductors and magnetic materials. The measurements will be usually carried out at liquid helium temperature, often at high magnetic field. The research work of the successful candidate may be used for a future PhD thesis in physics.
