Offer Description
HOMEDEM: 8 PhD positions for the european doctoral network 'Co-designing a Home with Dementia'
Applications are invited for 8 PhD positions for the Doctoral Network “Co-designing a Home with Dementia” (HOMEDEM) a Marie-Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Network that will provide high-level training in design and dementia caregiving, to high achieving, early-stage researchers. What makes taking part in such a funded European doctoral network so compelling, is that the team of doctoral researchers work not only on their own topic, but collectively to answer the questions posed by the consortium through cross-discipline collaboration. The successful candidates will study across Europe, attending workshops with their fellow researchers and taking on secondments at some of Europe’s leading research institutions and dementia care organizations. This experience-based perspective will not only strengthen HOMEDEM’s outcomes, but will lead to insights that are relevant to multiple locations, care-constellations and care systems across Europe.
Key background info
This project has received funding from European Union's EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation Europe Horizon Europe (HORIZON) Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Networks (MSCA-DN) under the grant agreement 101072827. More on HOMEDEM can be found at www.homedem.eu and https://cordis.europa.eu/project/id/101072827.

Interested?
Apply by January 22, 2023 to LUCA School of Arts, HR Department via CV Warehouse (https://www.luca-arts.be/nl/vacatures). Candidates can apply for a maximum of 3 positions. The applications will be distributed to the organizations responsible for the appointments. One submission will cover the application for one or more positions.

Only complete applications will be accepted.
Selection procedure
The selection consists of:
- A preselection based on the submitted dossiers
- A selection interview in the week of February 6, 2023, with candidates retained after pre-selection on file.
The outcomes of the selection will be communicated by Feb 22th. Candidates will have 14 days to accept the position and provide the required documents to start the contractualization phase with the beneficiary. The expected start date is March 2023.
The 8 PhD positions
As one can see, the positions differ in duration and wage. 36 months is the standard research time set by the European Commission. Some research institutes will fund another 12 months to finish the PhD. The differences in wages between different countries result in differences in cost of living, national tax and social security systems, and the ‘country correction coefficient’ (in relation to cost of living) applied by the European Commission in the calculation of the project grant.
