RECTOR OF MARIA CURIE-SKŁODOWSKA UNIVERISTY IN LUBLIN announces a competition for the position of an Assistant Professor in the group of research and teaching staff at the Institute of Archaeology at the Faculty of History and Archaeology UMCS.

The competition may be entered by individuals who meet the requirements specified in the Act on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2022, item 574) and in the UMCS Statute of May 29, 2019, as amended.

full-time employment under an fixed-term employment contract from January 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024, in the primary workplace

Eligibility criteria

- doctoral degree in the field of physical anthropology;

- candidate’s research and teaching aptitude proved with active participation in scientific life in the field of the physical anthropology of the prehistoric communities of Central Europe, as well as significant scientific achievements in this field (including publications, in particular a scientific monograph, scientific articles published in prestigious scientific journals, articles in reviewed post-conference materials);

- significant scientific achievements, including achievements after doctoral degree;

- teaching and organizational experience;

- fluency in at least one Western European language;

- experience in managing and implementing interdisciplinary research projects focused on the physical anthropology of the prehistoric communities of Central Europe

Selection process

APPLICATION FOR THE COMPETITION SHOULD INCLUDE:

- an application requesting employment addressed to the Rector of UMCS;

- a copy of the doctoral diploma;

- a personal questionnaire and curriculum vitae;

- a list of scientific publications;

- a list of scientific, teaching and organizational achievements;

- a declaration of compliance with the requirements specified in the Act on Higher Education and Science of July 20, 2018 (Journal of Laws of 2022, item 574);

- a candidate's declaration that UMCS will be their primary workplace;

- a candidate's declaration that they agree to the processing of personal data in accordance with Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation);

- references, opinion confriming candidate’s research and teaching aptitude.

The deadline for submitting documents is December 6, 2022.

The competition will be settled no later than December 15, 2022.

 

The settlement of the competition does not result in establishing an employment relationship. The decision on employment is made by the Rector. The University reserves the right to close the competition without a decision.

The data will be processed by UMCS during the recruitment period, and in the case of data processed on the basis of consent, until a possible objection is raised or consent is withdrawn, and after that time for archival purposes, in accordance with UMCS procedures, as well as for the purposes and for the period and in to the extent required by law to secure any claims.
