Offer Description
TheraTools is currently recruiting 9 highly motivated Doctoral Candidates.
The consortium is composed by leading scientists in the field of innovative tools for the treatment and modeling of complex cancer environments., from prestigious universities and research institutions of 4 different countries (UPV/EHU-POLYMAT Spain, University of Aveiro-Portugal, Technion Research and Development Foundation-Israel and the Italian Institute of Technology-Italy) and complemented and supported by the expertise of 6 associated non-academic partners (Vetex, Polimerbio, I+Med, Metatisue, Nanoscribe and Beonchip)
This network program has been configured to establish a supportive environment in which 9 Doctoral Candidates will have the opportunity to be awarded with a double doctorate degree in two different countries.
The offered positions are available to start on February/March 2023 (July 2023 at the latest) with a duration of 3 years.

Candidates must have a master degree or equivalent diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering & Materials or related disciplines, with a strong background in polymer materials, bioengineering and/or biomaterials.
Candidates with a background in nano and biomaterials or nanoscience or bioengineering/biomedical engineering bioengineering, biomedical engineering, biotechnology, materials science, and cell biology with interface with biomaterials will be considered for evaluation. Basic background in organic chemistry/polymer chemistry will be also considered.
Excellent command of written and spoken English is a must
Ability for research management, dissemination, communication with colleagues and supervisors, strong teamwork spirit, creativity, problem solving and attention to safety.
Research experience in the academic or industrial sector will be considered

- Candidates must not have resided or carried out their main activity (studies, etc.) in the country of the first recruiting organisation for more than 12 months in the 3 years immediately prior to their recruitment. Date of recruitment means the first day of the employment of the researcher for the purposes of the action (i.e. the starting date indicated in the employment contract/equivalent direct contract).
- Candidates shall, at the date of recruitment by the host organisation, be in the first four years of their research careers and have not been awarded a doctoral degree.
- Candidates must have a master degree or equivalent diploma in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering & Materials or related disciplines, with a strong background in polymer materials, bioengineering and/or biomaterials.
- Candidates may be required to provide documentation proving their eligibility for recruitment, i.e. to provide supporting documentation proving your place(s) of residence or work during the previous 3 years.
Candidates must have a high level of proficiency in written and spoken English, which will be assessed with the motivation letter and the interview, respectively.
The selection process will be in accordance with the European Charter for Researchers and the European Code of Conduct for recruitment of researchers. The selection criteria will be:
- Professional/scientific experience (30%)
- Experience abroad (10%)
- Motivation and recommendation letters (20%)
- Interview (40%)
Candidates that surpass a therhold (80%) but not selected will be included on a reserve list.
