OFFER DESCRIPTION

The post-doc will have to carry out the various experimental stages of the project as well as the 1st stages of microscopy image analysis. These activities include:
- human cell culture in the L2 laboratory (maintenance of lines without the construction of new lines),
- performing fluorescence microscopy experiments (classical and single molecule),
- analysis of single molecule tracking data in matlab and python.

The post-doctoral fellow will have to carry out a project on the repair mechanisms of DNA double-strand breaks in human cells. The project aims to investigate the specific role of histone ADP-ribosylation in three steps of DNA repair known to be controlled by this signaling pathway: i) modulation of chromatin architecture, ii) recruitment repair factors and iii) controlling the release of PARP1 from damaged DNA. To study these different aspects of the repair process, we use super resolution microscopy approaches (single molecule tracking) in human cells.

The post-doc will be carried out in a new ATIP team (“Imaging Nuclear Organization and DNA repair” team) within the Computational and Quantitavie Biology (LCQB) laboratory, IBPS, on the Sorbonne University campus. The IBPS has an environment very rich in interactions between biologists, physicists, computer scientists. The project benefits from strong support from the IBPS microscopy platform.

Eligibility criteria

The post-doc should have in-depth knowledge
- in cell biology, in particular on DNA repair mechanisms.
- a good knowledge of fluorescence microscopy is required.
- an strong interest for biophysical approaches in particular concerning liquid phase separation models.

The post-doctoral fellow must master the following techniques:
- Culture of human cells in L2
- fluorescence microscopy experiments (classical and single molecule),
- analysis of single molecule tracking data in matlab and python.
- knowledge of static analysis and biophysical modeling is appreciated.

The doctoral student must demonstrate:
- very good organizaiton skills,
- a very good level in written and oral English,
- the ability to organize and present their results orally in a clear manner.
