OFFER DESCRIPTION

Among the objectives of the PRIN 2020 project - prot. 2020JXT3RB, particularly awaited is the critical and commented edition of the rhymes by Giusto de' Conti, a fundamental author in the history of fifteenth-century vulgar lyric poetry. The tradition of his texts is clearly bipartite: while the approximately 150 lyrics collected in his songbook (known under the title La bella mano) had a great diffusion, in manuscripts and prints, about 60 rhymes are attributed to him by single or very few witnesses. For many years the head of the unit has been studying the entire corpus and working on the constitution of the critical text: while the latter, as well as the commentary on the lyrics of the songbook, will remain his task, the winner of the research grant (12 months) will be entirely entrusted, albeit under the guidance of the head of the unit, with the the commentary (exegetical, linguistic, historical, intertextual, critical) of the Extravagant rhymes.
