OFFER DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a Postdoc to join Bioref Research Group (www.bioref.put.poznan.pl) for a new project BioMINE in which we aim at digging deep into a reactor microbiome to discover new functions for converting waste into chemicals.
A Postdoc will be responsible for co-supervising PhD student in setting up experimental plan. Besides he/she will be responsible for the omics and bioinformatics side of the project. The primary work will be associated with development of new protocols for microbiome functionality analysis, identifying and isolation of selected microbes and building a fluxome for better understanding of mixed culture fermentation technologies.

Benefits
We offer a salary of 7170 PLN gross/month and a contract for 1 year with a possibility to prolong it up to 4 years in total. In case of an employment longer then 1 year, employee receives 13th salary according to the Poznan University of Technology rules. Employment can start at the 1st of October 2022.

Skills/Qualifications
It is expected that the candidate will have:
- Documented experience of working in the biotechnological lab and in the research projects;
- Early carrier track of records (international peer review publications, conference presentations etc.);
- Experience in microbiology, microbial ecology, molecular biology methods and in bioinformatics and handling metagenomics data (experience in fluxome analysis will be highly encouraged)
- It is not necessary but it would be advantageous: experience in scripting or coding;
- Ability to work in a research team and to learn new techniques and adjust them to the research needs
- Proficiency in English in writing and speaking
Specific Requirements
A requirement is a PhD (not later than 7 years ago) in one of the following: environmental engineering, environmental biotechnology, industrial biotechnology, biochemistry, microbiology or similar.
