Offer Description

The research scientist will be in charge of:

  1. The performance of the analyses and the interpretation of the results of isotopic composition (CSIA method) of organic compounds in groundwater samples
  2. The set up and implementation of new methodologies for the extraction and isotopic analysis of organic compounds that are not in the portfolio until now.
  3. Designing, setting-up and monitoring laboratory experiments for assessing for example, the isotope fractionation associated to pollutants degradation or to contaminants extraction from groundwater samples.
  4. Participation to project meetings and workshops; support to the activities of dissemination of scientific results of the Project; drafting and editing of project reports and scientific papers for international journals; participation to international and national Conferences.
  5. Supervising undergraduate, MSc, PhD and interchange students and laboratory technicians, and working closely with PhD students and postdocs.

The scientist will work within an interdisciplinary research team.

 

 

Gross salary per year*

Between 27.000,00€ and 30.000,00€ (distributed in 12 payments), depending on the CV/experience.

Skills/Qualifications

Candidates must have a PhD degree in natural sciences (analytical chemistry, environmental sciences, geology, etc.) and proven experience in analytical chemistry. Candidates must also have high motivation, good organisational skills, interest to work in an interdisciplinary team and be open-minded. A strong academic background and a track record of international journal publication, commensurate with career stage, will be valued.

Specific Requirements

Isotope geochemistry, geochemistry of organic compounds and development of analytical methods appreciated.

Catalan appreciated: basic level.

Additional comments

Duration of the contract of employment: 12 months with a possibility of extension.

The candidate proposed for hiring must accept the job offer within5 working daysfrom the date of notification of the selection.
