OFFER DESCRIPTION

CIPES hereby announces an international public notice for the recruitment of a project manager in the form of a Certain Term Work Contract under the Portuguese Labour Code.

The position is initially scheduled for 12 months, renewable.

This vacancy is opened in the context of the Center for Research in Higher Education Policies´ Strategic Project, funded by the FCT – Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology), under the project reference UIDB757/2020.

It is a full-time position (100%) and requires exclusive dedication.

The gross monthly payment is the equivalent to the 1st level senior technician career.

Salary:

The gross amount of the monthly salary is the equivalent to the senior technician career of 1st level (1 007,49€ in 2022)

Eligibility criteria

Admission requirements:

- Pre-Bologna BA Degree or Master's 2nd cycle;

- Knowledge of English (written and spoken);

- Knowledge of accounting and/or law will be positively valued;

- Knowledge of public contracts´ procedures will be positively valued;

- Experience in the administrative and financial management of research projects and/or R&D units will be positively valued.

 

Admission and exclusion:

Candidates who incorrectly formalize their candidacy or who do not demonstrate the mandatory admission requirements set out in this notice are excluded from admission to this selection process.

The selection board has the power to demand from any candidate, in case of doubt, the presentation of documents proving their declarations.

 

Form of submission of applications:

Applications must be formalized, obligatorily, by sending an application letter accompanied by the following documents:

- Detailed Curriculum Vitae.

- Copy of the certificate(s) of qualifications.

Selection process

Selection Methods and Evaluation Criteria:

The applicable selection methods will be the curriculum evaluation and, for the first five classified in this evaluation, the selection interview.

The final evaluation will be obtained taking into account the following weights: Curriculum evaluation (60%) and Interview (40%).

The criteria for evaluating the applications and their respective valuations will be:

Curriculum Evaluation:

- Overall assessment of the candidate's profile and curriculum vitae (60%);

- Experience in management of R&D projects (40%).

The classification of each candidate is expressed on a numerical scale from 0 to 20 (to a decimal point) and is obtained by the average of the classifications of each member of the selection panel. In the event of a tie, the decision to decide the tie will be made by the president of the selection panel.

After the classification of the Curriculum Evaluation, the 5 (five) candidates with the highest classification will be invited for an interview. Candidates with classification less than 15 in the C.A.,are excluded from the selection.

The purpose of the Interview will be to deepen, with the candidate, aspects related to his/her profile and curriculum. The classification obtained in the Interview will be expressed on a numerical scale from 0 to 20 values (to a decimal point). In the event of a tie, the decision to decide the tie will be made by the president of the selection panel.

Candidate ordering:

The ordering of the candidates will be based on the sum of the points obtained in the Curriculum Evaluation and in the Interview and will result in a final classification of up to 20 points (to a decimal point).

Form of advertising/notification of results:

The final results of the selection process will be communicated to candidates via email.

The employment contract will last for 12 months, expected to star in June of 2022, and may be renewed by agreement between the parties.

Skills/Qualifications

The position will consist of participation in the various activities of the research institution, namely:

- Planning activities directly related to R&D, including participation and organization of conferences and events;

- Support to the management of R&D projects;

- Resource management of the R&D unit and administration of other matters relevant to the pursuit of its scientific mission;

- Support in identifying new funding opportunities and submitting applications to them.

 

Specific Requirements

- Knowledge of accounting and/or law will be positively valued;
