CALL FOR A POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER HIRING UNDER ARTCLE 19 FROM DECREE-LAW NR 57/2016, OF 29th AUGUST, ALTERED BY LAW NR 57/2017, OF 19thJULY

Instituto de Sistemas e Robótica Coimbra (ISR-UC) opens a call to hire a Postdoctoral Researcher under an unfixed-term contract in the scope of the Industrial R&D Project: WoW - Wireless biOmonitoring stickers and smart bed architecture: toWards Untethered Patients, financed by the European Fund for Regional Development, within the scope of the CENTRO-01-0247-FEDER-045931 call and by public funds from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education.

Regulation

  • Decree-Law nr 57/2016, from 29th August, altered by Law nr 57/2017, from 19th July, that approves a Doctoral Hiring regime to stimulate Scientific and Technological Employment in all knowledge areas (RJEC).
  • Portuguese Labor Law, approved by Law nr 7/2009, from 12thFebruary in its current writing.
  • Regulatory Decree Nr 11-A / 2017, of 29th December.

Job Description: The objective is to study and develop new materials and methods for printable and stretchable conductive inks and evaluation of biocompatible substrates that can interface the human body. It also includes assistance in preparation of scientific articles.

Members of the Jury: President - Professor Mahmoud Tavakoli; Members - Professor Aníbal T. de Almeida and Doctor David Bina Siassipour Portugal.

Start Date and workplace: The contract is expected to start in May/June 2022. The activities will be developed at the Institute of Systems and Robotics, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Rua Sílvio Lima, University of Coimbra – Pólo II, 3030-290, Coimbra.

Financing: European Fund for Regional Development, within the scope of the CENTRO-01-0247-FEDER-045931 call and by public funds from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education.

Monthly remuneration: Gross monthly Remuneration is 2.153,94 € in accordance with Tabela Remuneratória Única (https://www.dgaep.gov.pt/upload/catalogo/SRAP_2022.pdf) correspondent to level 33.

 

Admission requirements: Any national, foreign and stateless candidate for this job must meet the following requirements:

 

  • PhD in the areas of Chemistry or Chemical Engineering;
  • Proven experience on synthesis of printable conductive inks and stretchable electronics;
  • Experience in participating in scientific research projects and in the preparation of scientific articles.
  • Written and spoken fluency in English;

Evaluation criteria: The selection of the doctorate to be hired will be carried out by curriculum evaluation, with a 75% rating for academic qualifications and 25% for the degree of satisfaction of the requirements regarding knowledge and experience.

If the Jury deems it necessary, an interview may be held with the candidates placed in the first two positions according to the ordering resulting from the previous criteria. In this case, the final score will include the curricular evaluation (as described above), valued at 75%, and the interview, valued at 25%. If none of the candidates has the appropriate profile (overall assessment below 50%), the contract will not be awarded.

Form of publicity / notification of the results: The results of the evaluation will be publicized, through a list ordered by the final grade obtained, with the candidates being notified by email. After the dissemination of the results through e-mail, the candidates must consider themselves, from the outset, notified to, if they wish, express themselves in a prior hearing within a maximum period of 10 working days after that date. At the end of this period, the selected candidate must consider himself summoned to start the scholarship.
