Director of the Institute of Low Temperature and Structure Research, PAS announces a competition for the position of assistant professor (in Polish: adiunkt) in the Division of Biomedical Physicochemistry

Responsibilities and tasks:

The candidate's duties will include preparation of nanosized biomaterials including polymeric materials with inorganic nanofiller as well as leading indecently experiments related to electron spectroscopy and analysis of the obtained results in correlation with structural-morphological results. Moreover, the candidate’s tasks will also include preparation of biomaterials doped and co-doped with various ions, including optically active ones, spectroscopic measurements of the obtained materials (absorption spectroscopy, emission spectroscopy, luminescence kinetics) and measurements and analysis of structural-morphological properties (XRD, SEM, TEM, infrared and Raman spectroscopy).

1. A diploma or a copy of the diploma in English or Polish (in the case of being issued in another language, an English translation must be attached) confirming possesion of a doctoral degree in chemical, physical or material sciences (in the case of a degree obtained abroad, which is not recognized in Poland based on the international agreements, the candidate will apply to the Institute for its nostrification). 2. An application for employment addressed to the Director of the Institute containing the following clause: " I agree for processing my personal data enclosed in my documents for the needs necessary of the recruitment (in accordance with art. 6 par. 1 lit. A of the General Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and the repeal of Directive 95/46 / EC and the Act of 10 May 2018 on protection of personal data (Journal of Laws 2018 item 1000)”.

3. Scientific Curriculum Vitae, containing information about the scientific career (education and employment), as well as information on participation in conferences, internships, projects, awards and distinctions, skills and knowledge of foreign languages.

5. Concise information on previous scientific achievements.

When signing the contract, the candidate will be required to submit an authorization to inclusions in the number of employees engaged in the scientific activity at the Institute.

Skills/Qualifications

The candidate must hold a doctoral degree in chemistry physics, material engineering or related disciplines, obtained not earlier than 5 years before the competition. In addition, the candidate should have a proven scientific output in the above-mentioned area of the research, e.g. participation in research projects, authorship or co-authorship of publications in the journals listed in the Journal Citation Reports and be fluent in English.

Skills:

The candidate is expected to have the necessary experience and knowledge in the preparation of nanoscale biomaterials, including polymeric materials with inorganic nanofiller, the ability to independently perform electron spectroscopy experiments and analyse the obtained results in correlation with structural and morphological properties. Experience and skills to collaborate in an interdisciplinary team is essential.

The candidate should also have the skills to interpret the obtained results and present them in the form of scientific publications in English as well as presentations at international scientific conferences.
