OFFER DESCRIPTION
We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals with a background in synthetic organic chemistry to join our research group. The Teskey group is located in the Institute of Organic Chemistry at RWTH Aachen University, Germany on the edge of Germany's most westerly city and at the border of the Netherlands and Belgium. Our research projects are centred around the combination of transition catalysis and light which we leverage to discover new reactivity in organic synthesis.
- Applicants for the PhD positions should have a good masters degree in synthetic chemistry. Some experience in methodology development, photoredox catalysis, photochemistry or transition metal catalysis is preferable but not mandatory.
- Applicants for the Postdoc position should have, or be about to obtain, a PhD in Organic Chemistry. Some experience in organometallic chemistry may be advantageous.
A good knowledge of English is essential and some knowledge of German may be beneficial. The positions will be available from August 2022 (a later start date is also possible) and will be filled as and when a suitable candidate is found. Informal enquiries can be sent via email.
To apply, please send (in PDF format) a detailed CV (including the names of two potential references) with a cover letter, outlining your motivation and suitability, to Dr Christopher Teskey. Please note that the application process may take time and so you may not receive an immediate response.
