OFFER DESCRIPTION
A full-time position on a fixes-term contract to conduct research related to the overall aims of REVENANT.
Research field: Sociology, political science, humanities, comparative literature, ethnology or anthropology, history of art, history, geography, or from another scientific area that is relevant to the aims of the REVENANT research project.
Masters degree or equivalent
Candidates must be enrolled in a PhD programme by the end of the first year of the project.
Successful candidates will receive a scholarship of up to 9,000 HRK per semester for the payment of their doctoral studies tuition fees.Successful candidates must satisfy the residency regulations of the Republic of Croatia for the duration of the project.

Eligibility criteria
Persons of both sexes have the right to apply for the competition under equal conditions. The terms used in this competition, which have a gender significance, regardless of whether they are used in the masculine or feminine gender, include equally the masculine and feminine genders.
A candidate in the application procedure is considered to be a person who has submitted an orderly, complete and timely application for the call, together with all required attachments, and who fully meets all the conditions of the tender.
A candidate who in the application invokes the right for priority in employment in accordance with Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families, must also in addition to their application to the public competition enclose the evidence as outlined in Article 103, paragraph 1 of the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families, which is published on the website of the Ministry of Croatian Veterans:
A candidate who in the application invokes the right for priority in employment in accordance with Article 48 of the Act on the Rights of Members of the Armed Forces and Civilians Disabled in War, in addition to their application to the public competition, must also enclose a decision or certificate confirming that right and proof of the way his or her employment was terminated.
An applicant who in the application invokes the right for priority in employment in accordance with the Article 9 of the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities Act, is obliged to enclose proof of disability and proof of meeting the required conditions.
Selection process
The process of selecting candidates will take place in three phases.
In the first phase, the Commission checks that candidate applications are complete, orderly and have been sent within the deadline.
In the second phase, the members of the Commission, independently of each other, award each candidate a maximum of 10 points, for each of the following items: (1) publications; (2) participation in conferences; (3) written work (published or unpublished) up to 10,000 words; (4) professional competencies (based on CVs and recommendations) (5) previous recognitions, awards, etc. for excellence in study and research work.
In the third step, the Commission calls the candidates to interview. Committee members ask candidates questions about their interests and motivation to apply for the position on the REVENANT project (ERC Consolidator Grant # 101002908). Candidates can be awarded a maximum of 20 points for the interview.
If the candidate does not respond to the call for interview, he / she will be considered to have withdrawn from the application procedure.
Candidates will be informed about the place and time of the interview by special invitation.
By submitting the application, the candidates expressly agree that the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka as the manager of personal data collection may collect, use and further process data for the purpose of conducting the application procedure in accordance with the provisions as outlined in the Personal Data Protection Act.
The deadline for submitting applications for the call is 8 days from the publication of the tender in the Official Gazette.

Candidates are required to submit the following documents:
- an application letter signed by hand,
- a CV (Europass),
- copies of undergraduate and graduate degree certificates,
- a transcript of all marks received during university studies,
- a copy of an identification document (identity card or passport),
- a sample of written work in Croatian or English (published or unpublished, maximum 10 000 words with references),
- a motivation letter which includes a proposal for the topic of the doctoral dissertation and an explanation of how the topic of the dissertation is related to the activities on the REVENANT project
- two letters of recommendation
