The project MARCMUS will solely take place in Portugal (Lisbon).

The research fellow will assist the research team in carrying out the tasks performed during the term of the project, with particular emphasis on the process of photographing watermarks/calligraphies, in the treatment and cataloguing of these images, and in the rastrology analysis; he/she will also actively participate in other activities of CESEM.

The research fellowship’s duration is 16 months and is non-renewable. The expected starting date is 1st March 2022.

Holder of a diploma (Licenciate) in Musicology or equivalent and enrollment in a Masters in Musicology or equivalent.

The research fellowship corresponds to €835.98 monthly, according to the table of scholarships awarded directly by the FCT, I.P. in Portugal. (http://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores). Added to this amount is the voluntary social insurance corresponding to the first category, if the candidate so chooses, as well as a personal accident insurance.

Selection process

The selection methods will be the following: a) curriculum evaluation, on a grading scale from 0 to 10, with weighting of the academic background (0-5 points) and the preferential requirements (0-5 points); b) optional interview, carried out by decision of the jury. In the event of an interview, the weighting of each of the selection methods, a) and b), will be 50%.

The approved candidates will be notified by e-mail in due course. The candidates will be notified of the date and place of the interview by the same means.

Preferential requirements: area of ​​specialization in Historical Musicology, experience in photography (and image processing) and inventory/cataloguing of handwritten musical sources.
