OFFER DESCRIPTION

The postdoctoral fellow will work with one of the three focus areas:
  • Meta optical elements design, simulation and fabrication, imaging, micro-nano fabrication, lithography, and optical instrumentation.
  • Computational optics, deep learning, optical signal processing methods, image processing, experience in data acquisition, and automation.
  • 3D imaging, digital holographic microscopy, polarization phase imaging, fluorescence microscopy, two-photon microscopy, optogenetics, image processing, deep learning.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Carrying out cutting edge research in Computational Imaging.
  • Building upon and expanding on existing competences in UniTartu, cooperating with other research teams.
  • Attending scientific conferences and presenting research results.
  • Turning fundamental research into applicable solutions and cooperating with industry.
  • Teaching and supervising students in the field of photonics and imaging technologies.
  • Ensuring sufficient outreach of the team to make research understandable to the general public, as well as to industry and policy makers.

Required qualifications
PhD in Physics or in a similar field or an equivalent qualification with a background in Photonics or Computational Imaging.
Required experience
  • Previous research experience in the field of photonics, image processing, computer science or light-based imaging techniques.
  • Publications in high impact journals, including publications as lead author.
  • Teaching and supervising experience.
Required language skills
Proficiency in English
 
Starting at 01.04.2022, temporary contract to 31.03.2023

Workload 1,00

Salary

From 2200 euros (gross) per month, depending on qualification and work experience. The total annual payroll from 35 500 euros, which includes employer taxes.

We are seeking to hire 3 full time postdoctoral researchers to join an interdisciplinary research group working in the field of photonics and computational imaging.

The researcher will join the CIPHR (Computational Imaging and Processing in High Resolution) ERA Chair project funded by H2020 (grant no 857627). The work will be carried out in the newly established CIPHR ERA research group under the leadership of Vijayakumar Anand at the Institute of Physics, University of Tartu.
