1. The Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology opens an international call for 1 doctoral researcher position for the exercise of scientific research activities in the scientific area of Health and Medical Sciences, under an employment contract with uncertain term under the Labor Code, for the purpose of carrying out research and technological development functions within the project HR21-01077 funded by “Iniciativa Ibérica de Investigação e Inovação Biomédica, i4b”
The monthly salary is set in accordance with the provisions in RJEC, article 15, no. 1, corresponding to the remuneration level 33 of the Single Remuneration Table (TRU) approved by Decree no.1553-C/2008 of the 31st December, at 2.134,73 Euros gross.
Applications are formalized by addressing an application letter to the President of the Jury (to be included with the other elements of the application), specifically stating the reference of this announcement and the position being applied to, and identification of the candidate (full name, parents’ names, number and date of identity card, Citizen Card, or civil identification number and date, taxpayer ID number, date and place of birth, occupation, residence and contact address), including e-mail address and telephone contact.
Applicants must clearly state to which position they are applying to.
The application shall include all supporting documents encompassed by section 6 and 7 for admission to this competition, namely: a) Copy of Doctorate certificate or diploma and animal experimentation course (if applicable); b) Detailed curriculum vitae, structured in accordance with item 10; c) Other documents relevant for the evaluation of the qualification in related scientific area (English language level will be evaluated taking into account the documents sent by the applicant as well as in the interview); d) Brief description of the most relevant scientific activities of the last 5 years relevant for the current call (max. 1 page), according to item 10 of this announcement.

Applicants may be Nationals, Foreign or Stateless candidates who hold a doctorate degree in Biological Sciences, or related fields. Applicant should hold a scientific and professional curriculum that reveals a profile appropriate to the activity to be developed. In case of doctorate degrees awarded by a foreign higher education institution, the degree must comply with the provisions of Decree-Law no. 341/2007 of 12th of October, and all formalities established therein must be fulfilled by the deadline for application submission.
This position is designed to carry out a plan of research activities and knowledge dissemination, as detailed below:
Position on the scope of the project HR21-01077, entitled “microSTRESS – Regulation of prefrontal cortical synaptic function and behavior by chronic stress-induced microRNA-186-5p”, including activities focused on performing in vivo experiments with chronically stress animals to evaluate stress hormone levels, behavioural, cognitive and synaptic deficits caused by stress, and to test strategies to prevent these deficits.
