OFFER DESCRIPTION

The Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warsaw with the approval of the Rector of the University of Warsaw, announces a competition for the position of a Post-doc (research group; discipline - legal sciences; full-time position for a fixed time period);  

Information about the project:

  • Position funded by the National Science Centre of Poland under the MAESTRO 12 call.
  • The chosen candidate will be employed on the basis of an employment contract for 12 months, with the possibility of extending it for an additional period of 24 months (36 months in general).
  • The project title: The Temple of Justice. A Foundation of a Systematic Interpretation of the Digest.

Documents should be submitted personally or by post in the Secretariat of the Section of Staff Affairs of the Faculty of Law and Administration, room 313 Collegium Iuridicum I ul. Krakowskie Przedmieście 26/28, 00-927 Warsaw.

The competition is the first stage defined by the University of Warsaw Statute of the procedure of recruiting an academic teacher, and its positive decision is the basis for further proceedings.

 

Eligibility criteria

Candidates should submit the following documents:

  • university questionnaire (downloadable from UW)
  • a copy of the doctor's diploma,
  • language certificates
  • list of publications and conference presentations
  • statement on reading and accepting the rules for job applications for a position of an academic teacher at the University of Warsaw(available on the website https://www.wpia.uw.edu.pl/pl/dokumenty-i-wzory-pracownicy)
  • information about the processing of personal data (to be downloaded from the UW website)
  • statement on the primary workplace (to be downloaded from the University of Warsaw website)

Skills/Qualifications

Required qualifications:

The candidate for the post-doc position should have a PhD degree in Roman Law.

The candidates PhD degree has NOT been awarded by the University of Warsaw.

The candidate obtained her/his PhD degree not earlier than 7 years before the engagement in the project (this period might be longer due to family reasons according to NCN rules).

International track-record in Roman Law.

Proficient in English and Latin.

Fluent in at least two of the following languages: German, Italian, Spanish or French.

Reading skills in ancient Greek would be an advantage but is not compulsory.

Mandatory knowledge of relevant methodology.
