OFFER DESCRIPTION
RECTOR of the Jagiellonian University announces a competitive selection process for the post of an ASSISTANT in the research staff at the Center for Evaluation and Analysis of Public Policies of the Faculty of Philosophy in the project "Positive Health Program", financed by the National Science Center as a part of the POLS competition.
The competitive selection process is open for all individuals, who meet the requirements set out in Articles 113 and 116.2.4) of the Act of 20 July 2018 – Law on Higher Education and Science, and who meet the following eligibility criteria according to § 166 of the Statute of the Jagiellonian University:
1) Holding at least a Master’s degree, Master of Science degree or an equivalent degree;
2) Exhibiting aptitude for research work.
Recruitment for the position of an assistant in the project "Positive Health Program" is combined with the recruitment to the Doctoral School of Social Sciences at the Jagiellonian University (for a 3-year program) according to a special competition procedure. A person who will be hired will also have a status of a doctoral student during the employment period.

What we offer:
1. Salary- max amount of funds for the whole employment are about 170 thousands PLN (for the entire duration of
the project, until October 14, 2023.
2. Full-time employment at the Jagiellonian University starting as soon as possible until the end of the project, that
is till October 14, 2023, with an extension option.
3. Becoming a doctoral student at the Doctoral School of Social Sciences at the Jagiellonian University (a sixsemester
program in the discipline of sociological sciences).
4. After October 14, 2022 (end of the project) guaranteed financing under the doctoral scholarship for the
remaining period of doctoral studies (3 years in total).
5. Close cooperation with the Principal Investigator, who has an extensive experience in research (research scientist
at Harvard University and the European Commission Joint Research Centre), publication (over 50 scientific
articles published in journals listed in the Web of Science database) and mentoring (undergraduate students,
master's, doctoral students and post-docs).
6. Mentoring in the preparation of the proposal of a Ph.D. dissertation and the dissertation itself.
7. Mentoring and collaboration in the preparation of scientific publications.
8. Possibility of collaboration in other projects carried out at the Center for Evaluation and Analysis of Public Policies of the Jagiellonian University.
Selection process
The candidates, who would like to take part in the competitive selection process, should submit the following documents to the Centre for Evaluation and Analysis of Public Policies of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, ul. Ingardena 3, 30-060 Kraków, room 209 or via e-mail: ceapp@uj.edu.pl:
1. application form;
2. CV, along with information on the candidate's research, teaching and organizational achievements and a list of publications (if the candidate has one),
3. personal questionnaire filled in by the candidate;
4. copy of the master’s diploma or a doctoral diploma, if applicable;
5. latest performance evaluation form, if the candidate was subject to such an evaluation;
6. declaration of the candidate, confirming that the Jagiellonian University will be their primary place of work, should they be selected in the competitive selection process;
7. declaration under Article 113 of the Law on Higher Education and Science (Attachment No. 1);
8. declaration on acknowledging and accepting the rules and regulations concerning intellectual property management and commercialisation in force at the Jagiellonian University;
9. information regarding processing of personal data.

Specific Requirements
Additional requirements:
1. Master’s degree (in the discipline of social sciences and health sciences, e.g., psychology, sociology, quantitative
methods, economics, statistics, demography, public health)
2. Research interests related to the project
3. Interest in preparing a PhD thesis under the supervision of the PI,
4. Knowledge of statistics, analytical skills, experience in statistical analysis, and experience in working with quantitative
data;
5. Very good work organization, reliability, and punctuality,
6. Excellent communication skills,
7. Fluent English.
The knowledge of Polish is not required.
