SerQ opens a call for one research fellowship, in the framework of the CorkinARCH R&D project "CorkInArch - Fachadas de cortiça: desempenho, qualidade ambiental e perceção do público" (reference SIZA/ETM/0050/2019), co-financed by the FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia).
The fellow will be responsible for the development of the following activities:
• Characterization of the raw material (cork agglomerates) with a view to its use in covering facades;
• Tests for wear to environmental conditions, natural durability, mechanical resistance;
• Sensitivity analysis and data processing;
• Production of reports and other technical documentation within the project.
The amount of the fellowship is € 875.98 (eight hundred and seventy-five euros and ninety-eight cents) corresponding to the monthly compensation stipulated in the FCT table (https://www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores.phtml.en), plus social security (Seguro Social Voluntário, first level contributions) and personal accidents insurance. The payment will be made by bank transfer. This amount will not be increased during the entire period of the fellowship duration.
The granting of the scholarship does not generate or entitle a legal-labor relationship, it is exercised under an exclusive dedication regime.
The grant holder is granted the status of SerQ grant holder, as provided for in the Research Grant Holder Statute and in the Research Grant Regulations of the FCT, I.P. (Regulation no. 950/2019, of 16 December) both in their current wording.
Applications must be formalized by sending the following elements:
i) Proof of enrollment in a Master program or in a course without an academic degree,;
ii) Motivation Letter;
iii) Qualification certificate(s);
iv) Curriculum Vitae (CV) which must include a complete list of the concluded courses/subjects/curricular units and their classifications and the final average;
v) Other elements that the candidate considers relevant.
Applicants with academic degrees obtained abroad will be required to present a Certificate of Recognition in accordance with applicable law.

The applicable selection methods will be curricular evaluation with evaluation in each one considering:
i) Basic training, with proven knowledge of cork-based materials being valued - 45%
ii) Academic knowledge in the field of cork and construction - 45%
iii) The final grade of the MSc - 10%
If the jury finds the need they can call all eligible applicants for an interview.
If none of the candidates has a final classification equal to or greater than 15, the jury may propose not to award the Scholarship.
Composition of the Selection Board: Doctor Sofia Knapic (President); Doctor José Saporiti Machado (1st Effective Member); Doctor Carlos Martins (2nd Effective Member); Professor Alfredo Manuel Pereira Geraldes Dias (1st Substitute Member).
The results of the evaluation will be announced within 90 working days from the deadline for submission of applications, by notifying applicants via email. By disclosing the results, candidates should automatically consider themselves notified so that, if they so wish, they can give their opinion during a preliminary hearing within a maximum period of 10 working days. During the same period, the selected candidate(s) will have to declare, in writing, their acceptance of the scholarship. Unless a reasonable justification is presented, the lack of a declaration within the aforementioned period is equivalent to a waiver of the scholarship. In case of resignation or desistance of a selected candidate, the immediately best classified candidate will be notified.

Bachelor in Architecture, Design, Design Engineering, Forestry Engineering or similar, enrolled in a Master program or enrolled in the course without an academic degree, with preference given to candidates with skills in cork-based materials.
