The Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC), University of Coimbra, opens a national call for 1 master (BI) for the purpose of carrying out research tasks within the project "Adenosine A2A receptors as a new opportunity to manage and detail the neurobiology of emotional distress", ref. HR17-00523, funded by Fundacion LaCaixa.
The amount of the grant is € 1.104,64 corresponding to the monthly compensation stipulated in the FCT table (www.fct.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores), plus social security (Seguro Social Voluntário, first level contributions) and personal accidents insurance. The payment will be made by bank transfer. This amount will not be increased during the entire period of the grant duration.
Applications must be formalized by sending the following elements: motivation letter, detailed CV with academic profile (including publications list). A master’s degree Certificate with the final average must also be submitted. Proof of enrollment in a doctoral/PhD course relevant for the R&D activities and other relevant documents must also be provided. Applicants with academic degrees obtained abroad will be required to present a Certificate of Recognition in accordance with applicable law.
Selection Methods: Curricular evaluation (AC) 100%
The formula to evaluate the curricular evaluation (AC), in a 0-100 scale, will be:

In the Curricular evaluation (AC), in a 0-100 scale, the following criteria will be assessed
(i) merit and adequacy of the candidate curriculum vitae (CV) - 70%;
(ii) suitability of the candidate's profile to the tasks to develop (AP) - 30%
In the CV criteria, the following parameters will be taken into account:
- Master's grade (60%)
- Under 16,99 – 10
- From 17 to 18,99 - 25
- From 19 to 19,99 – 100
- Participation in scientific meetings (20%)
- 0 meetings – 0
- Between 1 and 4 meetings – 50
- Over 5 meetings - 100
- Scientific publications in journals or book chapters (any co-authorship) (20%)
1. 0 papers – 0
2. Between 1 and 3 papers – 75
3. Over 4 papers – 100
In the AP criteria, the following parameters will be taken into account:
- Experience in animal behavioral characterizationl (50%)
- Experience in genotyping transgenic mice (30%)
- Experience in the preparation and characterization of synaptosomes (20%)
with each of D up to F subcriteria valued as:
- No experience – 0
- Reasonable experience – 50
- Proficient experience – 100
Additional information: The Selection Jury has the right to not select any candidate if they consider no applicant was suitable for the desired R&D vacancy. If the candidate selected first does not accept the fellowship, the jury has the right to not proceed to hiring the following candidates.

Master (MSc) in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology, or related fields.
Holders of a master’s degree in Biotechnology, Biochemical Pharmacy, Toxicology, or related fields. Candidates must be enrolled in a PhD, aiming to consolidate their scientific training through the development of research work leading to the attainment of the respective academic degree, whether integrated or not in R&D projects.
