OFFER DESCRIPTION

The research aims:
- to evaluate the most up-to-date Archaeological Charts of the territory concerned where the expansion of modern centres continually threatens the remains of archaeological and cultural heritage - to link it to an information system that allows any other type of historical document to be linked to archaeological documents and to produce thematic maps on which will be represented the distribution of attendance on the territory phase by phase;
- to reconstruct the succession of urban and rural landscapes of ancient Lazio;
- to draw up an account of the history of these landscapes and their architectures prior to the creation of virtual or real publishing and exhibition-museum itineraries;
- to create a virtual museum of ancient Lazio based on these contents. The main objective of the research is the reconstruction of the succession of urban and rural landscapes in the territory included in the current borders of the Lazio Region. This will be possible thanks to the reconstruction of the main building phases of the public and private monuments/complexes of the various centres and their territories, of which a sufficient fraction is preserved for the understanding and reprocessing of the original architecture. The architectural reconstructions will be accompanied by the recontextualization within them of the mobile finds related to the main furniture of the building: wall decorations and flooring, sculptures, architectural decoration, inscriptions.
Specific research objectives are also:
• create an instrument for the protection of Cultural Heritage, for the design of infrastructure (metropolitan and railway lines, roads, etc.) and other public or private works and for knowledge of the territory of Lazio in ancient times;
• design educational-exhibition paths and produce content aimed at museum installations and the offer to a wide audience of itineraries - real and/ or virtual in the cities and territories of ancient Lazio and its different landscapes.
• have a tool for the advancement of scientific knowledge of the centres and their territories in ancient times, for the protection and enhancement of the Cultural Heritage;
In particular, the following definitions shall apply:
a) extend the information system produced by the DAPAP Laboratory (Laboratory of Applied Didactics to the study of Artisanal Productions of Architecture and Historical Landscapes) of the Department of Antiquity Sciences of Sapienza, University of Rome;
b) allow on-line use of databases and images acquired and/or produced during the previous research and the project proposed through a website.
The objectives and products described above constitute a complete and coherent whole, at the same time.
