OFFER DESCRIPTION

The research will organize the state-of-the-art design methodologies within the framework of the product Life-Cycle Assessment. The LCA approach will be the backbone of a holistic methodology to Design for Circularity for new products that wisely (re)use raw materials and natural resources, to address multiple SDGs at the same time. Besides embedding classical Design for X methods (DfMA, DfD, Df Recycling/Reuse, Efficiency) and Eco-Design guidelines, the research will explore the integration of other relevant approaches for early product development as Bio-Inspired Design. The LCA-based modeling approach will include the traceability of products and components to collect meaningful data also for the use stage and boost circular economy practices. The Design for Circularity prescriptions will be strengthened on real industrial cases studies with a company in the white good industry for a tangible estimation of the achievement of SDGs.
