The Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology (CNC), of the University of Coimbra, is opening a competition for hiring a Superior Psychology Technician (qualification level 7 – Master Degree) to carry out research activities within the scope of the PT-BGT project -11653 ''Assessing the value of serum neurofilaments as biomarkers of response to the first-line oral treatments in multiple sclerosis''

Gross monthly wage of €1205.08, corresponding to the level TRU 15 (Single Remuneration Table Updated pursuant to Decree-Law No. 10-B/2020, of March 23).

Eligibility criteria

Selection method: Curriculum Evaluation and Interview to the three (3) candidates with the highest ranking in the Curriculum Evaluation.

Selection and final decision criteria: The Curriculum Assessment (CA) will consider the absolute merit of the applicant's CV and its suitability to the profile and tasks described above, in particular his proven experience in neuropsychological assessment in the area of ​​cerebrovascular and/or demyelinating diseases . Proven practical and theoretical experience in data analysis and processing (with special relevance to the ability to use of tools such as dynamic tables and graphs, and statistical analysis software) and in activities of dissemination of results and scientific dissemination, expertise in the areas of applications for scientific research projects, as well as advanced continuous training in the topics under consideration will be valued. In the Interview (INT) the candidate's ability to communicate and verbally expresses himself, as well as the candidate's analysis and critical sense and his/her motivation and interest will be valued.

The formula for obtaining the final classification (FC), on a scale from 0 to 100, will be: FC = 0.40*CA + 0.60*INT

The Selection Jury reserves the right to not select any candidate if it is verified that none of them has the appropriate profile for the exercise of the functions.

Formalizing the application: Applications are mandatorily formalized in English by sending an application containing the applicant's Curriculum Vitae with the academic record (including final grades from the different higher studies cycles), list of publications, motivation letter, copy of Master's degree certificate, and name and contact details of 2 (two) references. If the Master's degree has been awarded by a foreign higher education institution, it must comply with the provisions of Decree-Law no. 341/2007, de 12 de outubro, and any formalities established therein must be completed by the deadline for application.

Offer Requirements


National, foreign or stateless candidates who hold a Master's degree in the area of ​​Clinical and Health Psychology, with experience in neuropsychology (elimination factor) holders of a scientific and professional curriculum that reveals an adequate profile for the activity to be developed, and should be proficiente in both spoken and written Portuguese and English

Specific Requirements

Execution of research activities in the funded project PT-BGT-11653 ''Assessing the value of serum neurofilaments as biomarkers of response to first-line oral treatments in multiple sclerosis'' by the research group Biomarkers in Neuropsychiatric Disorders: from Molecules to Diagnosis and Intervention of CNC. The applicant will contribute to the development of research activities within the Study Coordination Activity, with the aim of ensuring compliance with the timeline of multidisciplinary visits and assessments of Multiple Sclerosis patients admitted to the study and within the scope of Activity 7.3. Neuropsychological Assessment at baseline, at 12 and 24 months with the aim of tracing the neuropsychological profile of the included sample. These activities will result in medium/large scale behavioral data, so that, in addition to the development of management activities, training of human resources, the candidate will develop activities of communication, dissemination and exploitation of results.
