OFFER DESCRIPTION
ArmEn seeks to establish a new framework for studying the southern Caucasus, Anatolia and northern Mesopotamia (CAM) as a space of cultural entanglements (IX-XIV c). The project intends to trace shared features in the textual, artistic and material production of CAM and correlate them to the circulation of ideas/concepts, and between multiple ethno-linguistic groups. The body of Armenian sources to be explored together with sources in Arabic, Georgian, Greek, Persian, Syriac, and Turkish, will illuminate entanglements between different peoples of CAM. Researcher’s activities: research on archeological and numismatic sources preserved at the History Museum of Armenia from Byzantine, Seljuq and Mongol periods; publications; contribution to the three volumes foreseen within the project ArmEn, the on-line database, and the interactive map; participation in conferences
