JOB VACANCY

1. for the selection of one candidate for the position of postdoctoral researcher in the field of humanities, area of ethnology and anthropology, on a project HRZZ_IP-2019-04-3946 »Solidary economy in Croatia: anthropological perspective« (acronym: SOLIDARan). The employment contract is to be signed for a period of 17 months.

2. for the selection of one candidate for the position of assistant (doctoral student) in the field of humanities, area of archaeology, on a project HRZZ-IP-2019-04-7821 »Prehistoric hunter-gatherers in Istria and adjacent regions: patterns of late Pleistocene lifestyle and mobility (PREHISTRIA). The employment contract is to be signed for a limited period.

For no.1.:

Requirements and preferences for this scientific position:

In addition to general conditions for employment according to the current Labor Act, applicants are obliged to meet the requirements prescribed by the Act on Scientific Activity and Higher Education (Official Gazette 123/03, 198/03, 105/04, 174/04, 02/07, 46/07, 45/09, 63/11, 94/13, 139/13, 101/14, 60/15, 131/17) and the Ordinance on additional conditions for election to scientific positions of the Institute for Anthropological Research.

Obligatory requirement:

  1. Finished Ph.D. study and obtained Ph.D. Diploma in the scientific area of humanities, scientific field of ethnology and anthropology

Additional requirements:

  1. Active knowledge of Croatian and Italian languages, for the purpose of conducting qualitative field research in the bilingual area.

Preference will be given to candidates having experience in:

  1. Participation in qualitative field research as a part of greater research team,
  2. Participation in international and national projects belonging to the Institute for Anthropological Research area of work,
  3. Work experience with programs for quantitative and qualitative data analysis.

To the application for the job vacancy, the following documents should be attached:

  1. CV containing a summary of the scientific activity with a list of scientific papers,
  2. Copy of all degrees Diplomas including a copy of Ph.D. Diploma in scientific area of humanities, scientific field of ethnology and anthropology,
  3. List of participation at international and national projects belonging to the Institute for Anthropological Research area of work,
  4. Copy of Birth certificate or proof of citizenship for foreign candidates,
  5. Evidence of meeting the additional requirement.

Requirements and preferences for this scientific position:

In addition to general conditions for employment according to the current Labor Act, applicants are obliged to meet the requirements prescribed by the Act on Scientific Activity and Higher Education (Official Gazette 123/03, 198/03, 105/04, 174/04, 02/07, 46/07, 45/09, 63/11, 94/13, 139/13, 101/14, 60/15, 131/17)

Obligatory requirement:

  1. M.A. Degree in Prehistoric archaeology
  2. grade average high enough to enroll in the doctoral programme
  3. active knowledge of English language and basic computer skills
  4. field work experience on archaeological sites related to research subject of PREHISTRIA project

Preference will be given to candidates having experience in:

  1. Publications related to the field of study relevant to PREHISTRIA Project
  2.  experience in work with Total station
  3.  experience in field work documentation
  4.  familiarity with programs AutoCAS and Adobe Photoshop
  5.  Driver’s licence (B category)

  3. Grade transcript assuring the requirements for enrolling in the doctoral programme
  4. Copy of Birth certificate or proof of citizenship for foreign candidates,
