OFFER DESCRIPTION

Work type: Full-time
Department: Department of Psychiatry (21500)
Categories: Academic-related Staff

Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Digital Mental Health in the Department of Psychiatry (Ref.: 507979), to commence as soon as possible for two to three years.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary team based at the Department of Psychiatry. The team consists of enthusiastic and highly-motivated individuals, and is internationally renowned for its contribution towards clinical research in psychiatry and mental disorders. Information about the team can be found at https://www.psychiatry.hku.hk/major.html.

Applicants should possess a doctoral degree by research (Ph.D. or equivalent) in psychiatry, psychology, social sciences, public health, sociology, statistics, or a relevant discipline, with an excellent publication track record. They should have a strong quantitative background, relevant experience in conducting and managing community research and clinical studies, and demonstrated expertise in conducting psychiatric interviews and analysing large and complex datasets.  Proficiency in at least one statistical software package (e.g. SPSS, Stata, SAS, R, Mplus) is required.

The team is looking for an individual with high calibre to develop studies in the area of digital health in mental disorders, in collaboration with expert researchers and clinicians. The initiative involves the development and evaluation of innovative online mental health detection and intervention tools. The appointee will conduct scholarly research, lead projects, prepare manuscripts and reports, assist in the supervision of junior research staff and students, and perform other duties as assigned. This position would be ideal for someone wanting to develop academically in the field of mental health.  Those who have responded to the previous advertisement (Ref.: 504413) need not re-apply.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.

The University only accepts online applications for the above post.  Applicants should apply online and upload an up-to-date C.V.    Review of applications will start as soon as possible and continue until October 9, 2021, or until the post is filled, whichever is earlier.
