There is a vacancy for a postdoctoral fellow position at The Department of Genetics, Microbiology & Statistics, Faculty of Biology, University of Barcelona (www.ub.edu/genetica/humanaen/cormand.htm) to work on the genetic basis of impulsive, compulsive and externalizing behaviors. The position is for a period of 1 year and subject to the EU-Horizon 2020 project “Effects of Nutrition and Lifestyle on Impulsive, Compulsive, and Externalizing behaviors (Eat2BeNICE)” (ref. 728018). The starting date is planned no later than 20.09.2021.
The project aims at delineating the genetic architecture –genes and pathways- underlying impulsive and compulsive behaviors in the context of ADHD and food addiction phenotypes. We aim at combining analyses of common genetic variants from GWAS data in humans with investigation of genetic/epigenetic determinants in animal models, including the use of brain imaging techniques.

Experience in the study of the genetic basis of psychiatric disorders, combining wet lab and bioinformatic skills. Experience in the analysis of common risk genetic variants (SNPs) through association studies. Transcriptomic analysis. Experience in functional studies of genetic variants and in animal models, including phenotyping and brain imaging techniques
PhD degree obtained <2 years before 20/09/2021.
Bachelor in Biomedicine, Biology, Biotechnology or equivalent
Master in Neuroscience or equivalent
