This job offer is the opportunity to invest yourself in a research program entitled PebMab, funded by the European Union. The PedMab project is a phase I/II study to determine Safety and Pharmacokinetics of subcutaneous administration of potent and broad anti HIV-1 neutralizing monoclonal antibodies, given to HIV-1 exposed neonates and infants. This project is coordinated by Dr Gabriella SCARLATTI from Ospedale San Raffaele SRL in Italy. The other participants are the South African Medical Research Council (SAMRC) in South Africa, the Wits Health Consortium (PTY) LTD (WHC) in South Africa, Institut national de la santé et de la recherche médicale (INSERM) in France and Universitetet i Bergen in Norway.

Inserm's role, within this program is to ensure the implementation and validation of laboratory techniques in South Africa to comply with regulation and to target the primary objectives and outcomes of the PedMAb clinical trial. Your mission will be to to implement/upgrade laboratory techniques for subjects inclusion in South Africa, to monitor and coordinate sample collection and build up the research sample repository, to manage and dispatch samples from the repository according to the testing plan, to test samples for PK (bNAb’s levels in DBS samples), to monitor and assess the quality of all tests performed for the phase I and II trial (excluding exploratory studies) and to organize training of the lab personnel and contribute to capacity building. You will be working under the supervision of Dr Molès et Pr Vande Perre, and will collaborate with Pr Helene Peyriere who will be in charge of analysing PK data.

The work contract is an 18 month work contract (from January 2022 to June 2023), which can eventually be renewed.

You will benefit of 44 days of paid annual leave per year.

This position is not eligible to teleworking.

The annual gross pay is determined according to the grid defined by the French laws governing contractual employees in the public sector. For a candidate with a bachelor's degree, the grid starts at 2,238.65€ gross monthly pay.

Selection process

Skills/Qualifications

You will be asked to have the necessary skills to :

  • develop a serological test development
  • conduct clinical trial technology transfer
  • monitor clinical trail activity
  • determine pharmacokinetic parameters of tested drugs for the data analysis

Further more, we ask that you have the qualifications to ensure :

  • Presentation/writing of reports
  • Sharing laboratory test results within the consortium
  • Management of technical resources within the framework of a scientific project (i.e, supervise technical personnel and trainees for the development and conduct of experimental protocols)
  • Transmitting technical know-how

 

Specific Requirements

We will privilege candidates who have a good general knowledge of immunology and infectious diseases, a good command of experimental biology protocols and knowledge of pharmacology. Having a strong sense of responsibility and joint action (community) is very important to us and we will pay particular attention to your ability to communicate and manage relations with internal and external contacts.

Please note that this position entails regular travel to Africa. By applying, you agree to several (2 to 3 maximum) travels per year as well as carrying out the resulting formalities (vaccination, visa, etc...)
