At the Department of New Testament Studies of the Faculty of Protestant Theology at University of Vienna a 50% position of University assistant (post doc) is vacant, beginning as soon as possible (for a period of 12 months).

The position supports the submission of a highly competitive external funding proposal (ERC; preferably Advanced Grant) and/or a Templeton Grant with possible research areas in the fields of New Testament textual criticism, New Testament manuscript studies, Old Church translations and/or New Testament lexicography. With these topics, the research project to be acquired should bring impulses for the subject New Testament and contribute to a focus.

Active participation in research, teaching and administration. This involves - Involvement in research projects / research studies - International publications and presentations - Responsibility for project applications and the acquisition of third-party funding - Independent teaching of courses as defined by the collective agreement - Supervision of students - Participation in evaluation measures and quality assurance - Involvement in the department administration as well as in teaching and research administration. It is referred at § 15 of the Federal Law on external legal relations of the Protestant Church in Austria, Federal Law Gazette No. 182/1961 as amended. The applicant (m/f/d) is characterized by excellent language skills (Greek, Latin and at least one other language from the group Syriac, Gothic or Coptic). Preferably, the language skills are proven by a corresponding long-term and continuous editing activity of manuscripts (parchment and/or papyrus). The applicant should also preferably have experience in the field of lexicography.

Documents to be submitted: - letter of motivation - Scientific curriculum vitae with diplomas incl. list of publications, list of courses, list of lecture activities
