A tender is now open for the attribution of 1 Post-Doctoral Research Fellowship within the scope of the R&D project Testing the Kerr hypothesis with gravitational waves and lensing, PTDC/FIS-AST/3041/2020, with the financial support of the Foundation for Science and Technology/MCTES, through national funds, under the following conditions::
Scientific Area: Physics and Mathematics
Admission requirements: Doctor's degree in Physics, Mathematics, or related fields.
If the qualification has been granted by a foreign higher education institution, it will have to be recognized by a Portuguese higher education institution, pursuant to the provisions of article 25 of Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of 16 August, which approves the legal regime for the recognition of academic degrees and diplomas in Higher Education, awarded by foreign higher education institutions, and paragraph e) of paragraph 2 of article 4 of Decree-Law No. 60/2018, of August 3, any formalities established therein must be complied with by the date of contracting.
Candidates who comply with the provisions of paragraph b) of paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 of article 2 of the Research Fellowship Statute, as amended by Decree-Law no. 123/2019, of 28 August, and also the regime established in article 7 of the Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology.
Work plan: Integrate the research programme of the project Testing the Kerr hypothesis with gravitational waves and lensing.
Applicable legislation and regulations: Statute of Scientific Research Fellows, as amended by Decree-Law No. 123/2019, of 28 August; Regulation no. 950/2019, of 29 November, published in Diário da República no. 241, 2nd Series, of 16 December (Research Scholarship Regulations of FCT, IP); Decree-Law No. 66/2018, of 16 August (Legal regime for recognition of academic degrees and higher education diplomas awarded by foreign higher education institutions).
Workplace: The work will be carried out at the Centre for Research and Development in Mathematics and Applications of the Mathematics Department of the University of Aveiro, under the scientific supervision of Dr. Carlos Alberto Ruivo Herdeiro.
Duration of the grant: The grant will have a duration of 24 months, starting in October 2021, possibly renewable up to the limit of the term of execution of the project.
Monthly maintenance subsidy amount: The scholarship amount corresponds to €1,646.00, according to the table of monthly maintenance subsidy amounts, set out in Annex I of Regulation No. 950/2019.
Selection methods: The selection methods to be used will be the following: curriculum evaluation and interview, with the respective valuation of 70% and 30% respectively.
Composition of the Selection Jury: Dr. Carlos A. R. Hedeiro (president of the jury), Dr. Eugen Radu and Dr. António P. Morais (effective members), Dr. Nicolas Sanchis-Gual and Dr. Pedro V. P. Cunha (substitute members)
Deadline for application and form of submission of applications: The tender is open from the 1st to the 20th of August 2021, and only applications within the established deadline will be accepted.

Form of advertising/notification of results: The final results of the evaluation will be publicized through a list ordered by final grade, posted on the University's website, within a maximum period of 90 working days after the final date of application submission, and the candidate(a ) approved notified by email, with a period of 10 working days being set for the purpose of prior hearing of interested parties, as provided for in the Code of Administrative Procedure. At the end of the period established for hearing interested parties and, in the absence of any response from them, the list of candidates will become definitive. From the final decision, candidates may file a complaint within 15 working days, or appeal to the highest executive body of the funding entity within 30 working days after notification of the final decision, in accordance with the provisions of article 12 of the Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology.
