Research Associate (m/f/d)
to start at the earliest convenience.
This is a 100% full-time equivalent position, based on a fixed-term contract valid for a period of 4 years. Continued employment is possible. Remuneration is in accordance with pay grade E13 of the German public-sector collective agreement, TV-L, salary step dependent on qualifications and experience.
Your project and responsibilities
- DESI- and MALDI-based mass spectrometric imaging of metabolites, lipids and proteins in kidney tissue sections to identify and study signaling molecules that mediate the complex interaction between different cell types in healthy and diseased kidneys.
- Immunohistochemical staining and multi-parameter-fluorescence microscopy.
- Integration of different imaging data and modelling of intercellular communication.
- Tracer experiments with stable isotope-labeled molecules.

What we seek
- A highly motivated colleague with an excellent PhD degree in the fields of chemistry, biochemistry or biophysics.
- Sound knowledge of instrumental analysis and bioinformatics.
- Prior hands-on experience in mass spectrometry imaging.
- Willingness to conduct interdisciplinary research as a member of a large collaborative research project funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG).
- Very good spoken and written English language skills. Knowledge of German would be advantageous but is not a requirement.
