Doctoral Researcher (f/m/d)
Project title: PBPK modelling of novel anti-infectives
The PK/PD unit within the Department of Chemical Biology (CBIO) aims to characterize novel anti-infectives and to bridge the gap between bench and bedside. The project aims to perform in silico analysis of re-purposed and novel compounds to establish pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) relationships from preclinical in vitro and in vivo data. The in silico analysis aims to translate dose-response relationships from animals to humans. Moreover, the in silico analysis will contribute to find the optimal dose for subsequent clinical trials. Finally, the methods developed in the project will advance PK/PD characterizations in the field.
- Master’s Degree / State examination in Pharmacy, Medicine, Pharmacology, Systems Biology, Computational Biology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemical/Biomedical engineering or a related field within the life sciences
- Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)
- Ability to work independently and as part of an international team
- Excellent experimental and organizational skills
- Strong analytical skills
- Strong background in and solid understanding of pharmacology, preferably with a focus on anti-infectives
- Experience in using HPLC-MS and analysis of MS data is a plus
- Hands-on experience in using PBPK-modelling software

Starting date: 1st October 2021 or later - Initial contract for 3 years
Salary: alike TVöD E13 (65%)
Probation period: 6 months
