The treatment of chronic inflammatory diseases and cancer is on the cusp of a revolution related to the recent advances in biotechnology. Classic treatment by chemical drugs methods have been favored in recent years, some new drugs from the 'living' are starting to emerge. These advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) have an exceptional application potential, but need to rethink the production of these drugs 'alive' and from living materials. Their manufacture requires implementing complex technology in a highly controlled environment. This work is part of the Europe funded MIMEDI project (Microtechnology for advanced therapy MEDIcinal products), started in 2018 and for 4 years, and which involves 10 partners (6 companies, 3 academic partners and a transfer agency).
The engineer position addresses the development of devices enabling a displacement, controlled by acoustic waves, of biological cells within a microfluidic device.
The engineer will work closely with researchers and PhD involved within the MiMédi project and will be in charge of the design, fabrication and validation of a fluidic chip that integrate actuation thanks to acoustic waves dedicated to the cells displacement.
She/He will carry out the sizing and design of différent chip's elements. She/He will be assisted by the Consortium and will work on the fabrication of the final device as well as its assembling. For this purpose, traditional fabrication technologies, including additive fabrication, but also clean room fabrication technologies will be implemented.
The hired person will set up automatic control laws, that will make it possible to control the final device in a closed loop.
Finally, she/he will validate the device depending on technical specifications, but also depending on biological constraints.
The hired person will access microscopes, micro-assembling stations, manipulating robots and the clean room MIMENTO dedicated to microfabrication (800m² room). She/He will be able to have access to funds in order to pay for equipment and participate to scientific congresses.

- Autonomy and communication skills
He/she will also be responsible of all reporting and communication related to the work.
She/he is expected to be highly autonomous and innovative, to have a strong motivation for experimental work, demonstrate ability to write, communicate in English and work in an interdisciplinary approach. She/he will also be responsible of all reporting and communication related to the work.
Short duration trips have to be planned.
