is hiring 1 postdoc researcher or 1 Ph.D. student in the following field:

Advanced research in Transport and Logistics with a focus on City logistics

 

Job description and Research field:

The post-doctoral candidate/Ph.D. student candidate will be based at the Department of Transport Management, Marketing and Logistics at the Faculty Transport Engineering. The work at the position involves principally advanced research in Transport and logistics with focus on City logistics, application of advanced mathematical and statistical methods in research and publishing the results in valuable international journals.

Objectives and expected benefits:

The main benefit for at the Department of Transport Management, Marketing and Logistics and generally for the University of Pardubice is the extension of international cooperation and international research carried so far. We expect long-term cooperation with the post-doctoral candidate or Ph.D. student and his/her home workplace, as well as maintaining the cooperation after the short-term contract termination through organising joint events

(e.g. workshops and seminars) and in the writing of joint publications.

Doc. Ing. Libor Švadlenka, Ph.D., the postdoc’s/Ph.D. student mentor will be available to the candidate for the whole short-term contract.

Requirements:

In case of Postdoc researcher:

  • Ph.D. or its international equivalent (ISCED Level 8) awarded not earlier than 7 years before the beginning of the mobility[1] ,
  • over the past 3 years, the candidate has spent a minimum of 1 continuous years (as of the beginning of the mobility) at a foreign university working as a researcher (with FTE of 0.5 and more) or did Ph.D. studies abroad;
  • over the past 3 years the candidate has published a minimum of 2 papers (as of the beginning of the mobility) in journals indexed in Thomson Reuters Web of Science, Scopus or ERIH PLUS databases.
  • advanced knowledge of mathematical and statistical methods

In case of Ph.D. student:

  • Master´s or equivalent level (ISCED Level 7) awarded not earlier than 3 years before the beginning of the mobility[2] ,
  • over the past 3 years, the candidate has spent a minimum of 6 continuous months

    (as of the beginning of the mobility) at a foreign university working as a researcher,

  • over the past 3 years the candidate has published a minimum of 2 papers (as of the beginning of the mobility) in journals indexed in Thomson Reuters Web of Science, Scopus or ERIH PLUS databases.
  • advanced knowledge of mathematical and statistical methods

  • 7-month fixed-term employment - expected commencement date: October 2021, possibly later by mutual agreement

  • A certificate on a language exam passed during the studies or a statement of the institution from which the candidate graduated - for English language as a minimum[3]
  • A list of publications, especially publications in journals indexed in Web of Science
  • A list of research projects (national and international) in which the candidate participated (including the position)
  • List of international stays
  • A letter of recommendation of the previous supervisor or the head of the department or team where the candidate worked.

All of the documents must be submitted in English. A university diploma or a decision on its recognition and a language exam certificate may also be submitted in Czech or Slovak. If an original of a document is not in Czech, Slovak or English, an official translation into one of these languages is required. A certified copy is not required for the purposes of the selection procedure, a printed or an electronic (pdf) one is sufficient.

Timetable of the selection procedure:

  • Announcement of the call: to 10th June 2021
  • Deadline for submitting the required documents: 31st July 2021
  • Evaluation: until 15th August 2021
  • Notification of the results and their announcement on the website of the University of Pardubice: by 18st August 2021

Each candidate will be notified in writing and will receive his or her record. The record will also define the appeal procedure and its time schedule. The results of the selection procedure will be published on the website of the University of Pardubice.

Should any appeals arise, they have to be filed within 10 business days after the results were published on the University website. The appeal must be delivered to the contact person at the University of Pardubice within the set time. The appeal will be dealt with within 10 business days after received. The selection committee will give its opinion on the appeal.
