Applications are invited for a full-time post-doctoral research position in the The Emerging Human Brain Cluster (Clúster Emergent del Cervell Humà - CECH). The successful candidate would be integrated in the Speech Acquisition and Perception Group (SAP) https://www.upf.edu/web/sap, lead by Prof. Nuria Sebastian, https://www.upf.edu/web/sap/nuria-sebastian, of the Center for Brain and Cognition (CBC) https://www.upf.edu/web/cbc. Candidates with appropriate Psychology or Biology backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
The Emerging Human Brain Cluster is part of the call for proposals for the allocation of co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) of Catalunya 2014-2020 to groups in emerging technologies for the development of valorization projects and research transfer projects (Project reference CECH: 001-P-001682).
We seek candidates with solid experience leading research on Infant Cognition or strong knowledge on brain imaging analyses in infants. Involvement in some organizational and management aspects is expected. The candidate must (1) have solid demonstrable experience (i.e., publications) in the field of Developmental Science, (2) strong background in either cognitive neuroscience, cognitive psychology, infancy behavioural procedures and/or electrophysiological techniques (EEG/ERPs), or in computational methods and (3) scientific motivation about early mechanisms of cognitive development. The successful candidate will develop the research program entitled "Development of biomarkers based on eye movements, EEG and fNIRS / fDCS (Advanced functional diffuse optical methods) for diagnosis, design of therapeutic intervention and monitoring of neurodevelopmental therapy in early childhood (0-24 months of life)". The tasks that the successful candidate will carry out are framed within the subproject 1 "Development of biomarkers for therapy in neurodevelopment in the first childhood (0 - 24 months) led by Nuria Sebastian.
We offer onsite laboratory facilities (www.upf.edu/web/cbclab) including an Infant Research Lab https://www.upf.edu/web/cbclab/bebes_recerca, a highly interdisciplinary and active research environment at the Center for Brain and Cognition. The position will be renewable for up to 15 months.
