Royal Derby Hospital site
Applications are invited for the above post to provide technical and research support to academics and researchers based at the School of Medicine in Derby, Royal Derby Hospital site. The postholder will join a team of academics carrying out clinical and translational research in human health and disease across a range of disciplines and will primarily be involved with providing training in physiological, biochemical, cell, cell culture and molecular techniques and data generation. They will also oversee the day to day running of the main research labs working closely with research teams to ensure a safe, effective environment with responsibility for maintaining records of training, risk assessments and standard operating procedures. The role will also include regulatory oversight of the Human Tissue Act.
The main research labs at the Derby site are the base for collaborative research between the Derby and Burton Hospitals Foundation Trust and the University of Nottingham in the areas of vascular, cardiovascular, renal, reproductive, paediatric and metabolic medicine.
The postholder will be expected to have a minimum of an HNC in a relevant subject or equivalent qualifications plus considerable work experience in a relevant role, or substantial work experience in a relevant role.
The post is offered on a permanent, full time (36.25 hours per week) contract. Job share arrangements may be considered.
