The Cell Clearance Lab headed by Prof. Kodi Ravichandran focus on understanding how the cell clearance is kept under control by phagocytes in health or during chronic inflammatory or autoimmune disease conditions.

You will play a critical role in investigating how phagocytes, especially dendritic cells respond to dying cells for maintenance of tissue homeostasis and prevention of disease.

YOUR TASKS

• You will lead a research team consisting of 3-5 people.
• You will be involved in research activities in both wet and dry labs.
• You will collaborate with other internal and external groups.
• You will guide 1-2 PhD and Master students in this project.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• You hold a thesis-based doctorate in Life Sciences.
• You have in-depth knowledge of immune cell biology
• You have a proven track record of successful research and high ranked publications.
• You know how to apply the principles of project management.
• Experience in project writing and successful achievement of grants is a plus.
• You are a talented and enthusiastic researcher, who is seriously motivated and has a sense for high professional standards.
• You are ambitious and passionate about research and ready to be the key link between internal and external collaborators in this research.
• You have the ability to work autonomously while having strong team leader skills.
• You are motivated towards applying for future competitive independent grants (e.g. ERC).

• We offer you a contract of indefinite duration.
