Salary: £26,396 to £32,348 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience. Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

The SBRC was founded following a £14.3m investment from UKRI (BBSRC/EPSRC) in 2014 and has a wealth of advanced facilities for research in microbial engineering biology.
The work will include using approaches or methodologies and techniques towards the goal of synthesising chemicals sustainably without generation of greenhouse gases in a collaborative I_UK project with industry entitled: “Development of a biocatalyst to recycle industrial CO2 emissions into carbon neutral ethanol”.
Working as part of a team you will support SBRC researchers and the lead technician in the use of the SBRC's suite of automated liquid handling robots. You will also support users from all levels of staff and external collaborators for the facilities making a significant contribution to the design and implementation of research in the SBRC including system set-up, contributing to programming and development, hardware maintenance and providing some training to users.
You will also receive training on the robot systems and be responsible for generating and analysing data for research publications with a significant contribution to writing research reports.
Previous experience in the use of liquid-handling robotics systems is desirable.
This role is available on a fixed term basis until 31/03/2024. Hours of work are full time (36.25 hours). Job share arrangements may be considered.
