OFFER DESCRIPTION

This PhD project aims at modelling the solid-liquid distribution coefficient (Kd) of NOR, previously obtained with laboratory batch sorption experiments with soils and similar geological materials. Samples will have contrasting properties and thus will be adequate for elucidating soil properties relevant for NOR sorption. Modelling will be based on elucidating the main soil properties governing NOR interaction in soils, and examining univariant and multivariant linear and non-linear approaches.

This work will be part of a PhD research project to be developed within the “Analytical Chemistry and Environment” PhD program of the University of Barcelona. The chosen candidate will participate in an EU RADONORM funded program, and besides performing the experiments, should be able to present the results in project meetings, and to collaborate in the elaboration of related reports and deliverables.

Eligibility criteria

Eligibility will be based on the qualifications and CV of the applicant and on the demonstrated experience in relation to the tasks related to the position.
