OFFER DESCRIPTION

The project is aimed at optimizing the strategies for the chemical characterization of non-silicate phases using an electronic microprobe. Specifically, the project will focus on the setting up of the best strategies (sample preparation, choice of opportune standard, instrumental conditions) for the characterization of sulphides and metal alloys with the new microprobe (JEOL-JXA 8230), recently acquired by the Dipartimento di Scienze della Terra thanks to the "Departments of Excellence" grant. The research will be based on the chemical characterization of natural and synthetic samples, including metal phases of meteoritic origin, sulphides and alloys contained in ophiolithic rocks, as well as metal artifacts from historical and prehistoric times
