QV Social and Digital Geographies University Assistant – tenure track (40 hours/week), Department of Geography starting 01.10.2021 for 6 years, a qualification agreement can be offered. Main tasks: Independent research in the field of human geography, with a focus on social and digital geographies; teaching in the field of human geography; supervision of theses (Bachelor and Master level); participation in academic administration. Required qualifications: Ph.D. relevant to the topic (preferably Human Geography); relevant scholarly achievements beyond the dissertation/PhD (especially independent publication activities); several months of relevant professional experience after the dissertation/PhD; independent teaching experience; relevant professional mobility experience during or after the dissertation/PhD; experience in participation in third-party funding (acquisition, management); description of a research project at habilitation level; submission of a teaching concept; German language skills (at least B2 level or willingness to acquire these in a reasonable time); ability to work in a team, communication skills, organizational and leadership skills; advantageous: experience with a broad spectrum of social science methods as well as research and/or professional experience in the Global South and/or Europe.
