The Faculty of Mathematics and Physics and the Leibniz Research School of Optics and Photonics invites applications for the following position of Salary Scale W3 NBesO starting as soon as possible: University Professorship (m/f/d) in Optics & Photonics
The Position
- is affiliated with the Institute of Photonics and associated with the Leibniz Research School of Optics and Photonics and the Cluster of Excellence PhoenixD.
- covers the important area of technical optics - in particular fiber optics and/or integrated optics, bridging basic and applied research areas. In particular, it deals with the realization of active optical and quantum optical systems as well as photonic networks and circuits.
- is responsible for the operation of the Core Unit "Fiber Production" with preform manufacturing and drawing tower and develops or establishes its use.
- integrates into the research programmatic of the research building OPTICUM on the new optics campus in Hannover-Marienwerder, which is currently being planned.
Your Profile
- Internationally visible research profile with relevant publications in the field of technical optics as well as fiber optics.
- Experience in leading scientific teams
- Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaborations within Leibniz University and beyond. Experience in coordinated, interdisciplinary programs such as clusters of excellence, collaborative research centers, research groups, or graduate schools.
- Commitment to teaching in English for the Physics and Optical Technologies and Quantum Engineering programs. To integrate current research results into advanced teaching and to train students in new and emerging areas at an internationally leading level.
