OFFER DESCRIPTION

The project envisages: 1) the realization of a mid-infrared laser spectrometer, based on the SCAR (Saturated-absorption CAvity Ring-down) technique, capable of measuring the residual amount of radiocarbon present in the form of gaseous 14CO2 (in the sample resulting from the burning of the solid specimen) with a precision of less than 2 pMC (percent of modern carbon); 2) the use of a THz spectrometer, based on the asynchronous optical sampling technique, for the characterization of artefacts both by time domain spectroscopy and by imaging techniques.
