Scientist (m/f/d) in Industrial Control Systems

Cybersecurity

  • Our Competence Unit Security & Communication Technologies is a European pioneer in the field of cybersecurity. Our experts support companies and government agencies to increase the resilience of their critical infrastructure, such as networks and IT infrastructures and protect their assets as best as possible.
  • As part of an international and interdisciplinary research team, you will investigate approaches to ensure the cybersecurity of next-generation industrial control systems that both leverage the benefits of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), whilst understanding their potential (adversarial) shortcomings in this context.
  • You will perform research at the intersection of industrial control systems cybersecurity and ML.
  • You lead research projects and actively engage with our national and international research partners.
  • You contribute to the definition of our strategic research direction and you prepare project proposals with support from your team.
  • You contribute significantly to the success of our national and international cybersecurity training courses and exercise activities.
  • You evaluate your research in real-world use cases in close cooperation with our project partners and stakeholders.
  • You successfully acquire co-funded research with national and international partners.
  • You will be known as an expert in your field, engage in various activities that promote AIT’s and your scientific profile and you publish your research in leading conferences and journals.

 

Als Ingenious Partner* zeichnet Sie aus:

  • PhD (or close to completion) in Computer Science or similar
  • Knowledge in critical infrastructure protection, e.g. in the energy sector
  • Expertise in machine learning for cybersecurity
  • A track record of scholarly research that is reflected in your publication record
  • Evidence of leading or supporting applications for funded research projects
  • Good communication skills in German and/or English

 

What to expect:

The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement is EUR 53.382,--. The actual salary will be determined individually, based on your qualifications and experience.
