OFFER DESCRIPTION
The Centre of Advanced Technologies in Mechanics (CATMech) and the Acoustical and Mechanical Engineering Laboratory (LEAM) of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) are seeking for a graduated engineer or a young researcher motivated to work in the field of pantograph/catenary dynamic interaction.
In the frame of CATMech, LEAM has developed a software, called RCat, for the simulation of the dynamic pantograph/catenary contact force specifically focus in rigid catenary system, an emerging overhead electrification system for railway applications with various benefits with respect to previous technologies. RCat is been used nowadays in simulations of new rigid catenary systems to be installed in different railway lines around Europe. In this framework, LEAM is looking for a young engineer/researcher that could be involved on several new developments that the computational tool requires.
The offer is for one year of research assitancy and it can be extended up to 5 years more, depending on the performance of the researcher, to pursue the PhD doctoral studies in this field. Industrial doctorate could be also an option for the doctoral studies.
