Job description summary
The research group of Dr. Olivier Lantz (Inserm U932, Paris, France) is seeking a degree-qualified computational scientist. The bioinformatician will be dedicated to work on several projets in the frame of fundamental and translationnal immunology research projects regarding MAIT cell biology, CD4+T cell biology and anti-tumor responses. Large datasets are already available in several species: single cell RNAseq associated with TCRseq and Cite-seq, bulk expression studies, microbiota (16S and metatranscriptomics). Phylogeny and regulatory network analysis can be envisionned. The projects will be defined with the applicant according to his/her expertise and wishes. Another more junior bio-informatician is already involved in the basic analysis.
Context
Projects will be developped under the supervision of Dr Olivier Lantz leading the team “Innate like and CD4+ T cells in cancer” (https://science.institut-curie.org/research/integrated-biology/u932-immunity-and-cancer/team-lantz/). The team encompasses: 1 staff-scientist, 2 postdocs, 3 PhD students, 1 bioinformatician, and 2 engineers. The team generate large datasets such as bulk and single cell (sc) transcriptomics, and proteomics.
The group is part of a 130-person immunology department headed by Anna-Maria Lennon. The lab is located within the Institut Curie campus in the center of Paris. The building is equipped with state of the art facilities (imaging, proteomic, animal facility, genomic and cytometry platforms). The Institute hosts around 1500 bench scientists including many foreign post-doctoral fellows.
Profile
Candidates will have a Ph.D. in bioinformatics, mathematics, computer science, or related field. She/he should have demonstrated success in a previous research experience in bioinformatics and statistics or related fields testified by publications.
Knowledge in approaches for high-throughput data analysis, statistical modeling, and classification as well as some knowledge in immunology would be appreciated.
Strong motivation, autonomy and ability to quickly and effectively develop new projects in relation with the group leader and collaborators will be essential.
Good proficiency in English is mandatory.
