ICFO is offering a postdoctoral position to a well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientist who wishes to enhance his/her scientific career in a friendly and stimulating environment.
The successful candidate will be joining the Quantum Information Theory group led by Prof. Dr. Antonio Acín. The group has experience in the design of quantum information protocols, with an emphasis on quantum cryptographic applications, the study of quantum correlations and the application of quantum information concepts to other fields, such as the study of many-body systems and quantum thermodynamics.
The researcher will be working on the design of quantum communication protocols, with an emphasis on key distribution and randomness generation, and frameworks for their certification. Proposals for the implementation of these protocols will also be analyzed.
The successful candidate will carry out their tasks within the Quantum CAT project (Agrupació Emergent en Tecnologies Quàntiques de Catalunya (QUANTUM) with suggested potential funding of 1.814.495,14€. Operation Code: IU16-011424). This project QuantumCAT is co-financed by the European Union Regional Development Fund within the framework of the ERDF Operational Program of Catalonia 2014-2020.”

REQUIRED LANGUAGESENGLISH: Excellent
Candidates must hold an internationally-recognized Ph.D.-equivalent degree (or evidence of its completion in the nearest future) preferably in Physics, Mathematics or Computer Science.
The applicant should have previous experience on quantum information science. Previous work on security proofs, the analysis of quantum correlations or the design of quantum information protocols is advised.
